f(x) wins K-Chart on Music Bank + other performances



After celebrating their milestone 600th episode last week, Music Bank is back once again with a fun and exciting show that was chock full of amazing performances!
Besides the usual stages, After School, Turtles, and Eru made their comeback. Elsewhere, B1A4, SpinEL, and Kim Jong Min made their respective debuts, while CNBLUE begun follow-up promotions.
4minute faced off against f(x) for the K-Chart this week. In the end, it was the latter who clinched their first-ever K-Chart win!
This was also their first-ever music show trophy since debuting in 2009 so it was no wonder that emotions ran high. Congratulations to f(x)!

Eru makes his comeback on Music Bank


Singer Eru is back on the comeback trail with his new mini album, “Feel Brand New“, and began promotions on today’s episode of KBS’s Music Bank.
Eru is making an effort to show the transformation from his former “Eru-style ballads” through his first title track of 2011, “Countrified and Immature“. This song is a collaborative effort between hit-maker Kim Do Hoon and composer PJ, which has a lyrical main melody arranged with elements of hip-hop. This new distinctive song will show a new emotion of ballads.
Also, in the beginning, the arrangement of strings and piano has upgraded both the composition and feeling for the song. The lyrics of “Countrified and Immature” were written by hit-producer Choi Gab Won and emphasize the unique and plain-spoken charm of men.
“Countrified and Immature” starts with a melody that will stick to your lips even after one listen. The lyrics which speak of the search for love by a man and his nervous and bitter feelings upgrade the song yet another level. You can sense beauty and lyricism in the addictive chorus and the heart-moving orchestral tune.

Turtles makes a ‘Hero’ comeback on Music Bank


Pop trio Turtles finally made their official comeback with a new member, Lee Kang, and their title track, “Hero“, on today’s episode of KBS’s Music Bank.
“Hero” features an exciting beat with snare drums and whistles that will surely have you humming it for days. Inside this upbeat rhythm is an equally uplifting message that aims to give hope and bravery to those that are giving up after lost love.
Their agency, Pine Tree Entertainment, explained their comeback, “In celebration of their 10th anniversary, the Turtles have overcome their pain with a new track that’s reminiscent of their older style. It’s something that the entire family can enjoy together.”

Music Core performances from April 30th



MBC’s Music Core is back once again with yet another fun and exciting show!
Besides the usual stages, Kim Wan Sun, After School, Eru, and Turtles made their comebacks. Elsewhere, Big Bang, K.Will, and INFINITE had their goodbye stages. Finally, Kim Jong Min, X-5, and SpinEL made their debuts, while CNBLUE began follow-up promotions.
Other performers included 4minute, f(x), Rainbow, A Pink, Tony An, Yangpa, and Ali.







After School makes a comeback with ‘Shampoo’ on Music Core


After a long hiatus, the After School girls are back on MBC’s Music Core with a brand new round of promotions after releasing their first album, “Virgin” earlier this week.
Decked out with a lovelier and more feminine concept, the girls have filled the album to the brim with songs that hold motivating themes like confidence and individuality. It’s been a long year since their last “Bang!” release, so the girls have set out to make this comeback particularly special.
Their title track, “Shampoo”, was written by poet Won Tae Yeon (of Secret Garden’s “That Man“) and composed by Japanese producer, Daishi Dance.
With a subtle piano melody and an emphasis on the emotions behind the lyrics, the song seamlessly weaves in and out of After School’s beautiful vocals and powerful rapping.

Having been promoting “My Heart is Beating” for the past 8 weeks, K.Will is wrapping up promotions with his goodbye stage on MBC’s Music Core today.
K.Will has certainly had a fruitful promotion period with his song charting highly on various music charts and also winning on music shows. More importantly, he has cemented his position as a solid ballad singer once again with “My Heart is Beating”, which is a medium tempo ballad track that features a fun melody with a dynamic sound that works in tune with the explosive vocals K-Will is known for.

INFINITE says goodbye on Music Core


Having made their comeback slightly more than a month ago, boy group INFINITE are wrapping up promotions on today’s Music Core today.
The boys have been turning in a playful and romantic look with ‘Nothing’s Over‘ for the past few weeks, but it is certainly over now with the conclusion of their promotions this week.

Acoustic girl duo ‘SpinEL’ debuts on Music Core with “ChuChu”


Korea’s first ever acoustic guitar girl duo, SpinEL, has made their official debut with their first single, “ChuChu“.
This girl duo team is comprised of two members, SPIN and EL, both of whom were born in 1996. SPIN is the vice president of her class and first began featuring for other artists since 2003. EL used to be a child actress and starred in a variety of movies, dramas, and mucicals.
While SpinEL is a combination of their name, it is also the name of a jewel. Like their name, the girls hope to become a shiny jewel in the Korean music industry.
Representatives of SpinEL stated, “The public is thirsty for talented and real music, as exemplified by the hits of C’est Si Bon and MBC’s ‘I Am A Singer.’ SpinEL has that same girl group charm, but with also a musical style that will satisfy listeners.”
The girls debuted on MBC’s “Music Core” by performing with their guitars on air.

X-5 debuts on Music Core


Open World Entertainment’s new boyband, ‘X-5‘, finally made their long-awaited debut on today’s episode of “Music Core” with “Don’t Put On An Act“!
With a title track produced by hip hop’s big daddy, ‘Rhymer‘, the boys showcased an excellent performance that utilized the song’s electro hip hop rhythm for an engaging and complex choreography while also rapping about the betrayal of love alongside a synth rhythm.

Big Bang clinches Inkigayo Mutizen triple crown + other performances



SBS’s Inkigayo is back once again, and this week’s show was full of amazing and fun performances from the top participating K-pop artists!
Due to time constraints, the Mutizen award winner was not announced for last week’s show. But it was announced earlier in today’s show and it was revealed to be Big Bang as they received their trophy belatedly. Congratulations to Big Bang on their win!

The ‘Take 7‘ nominees were Big Bang (“Love Song“), Rainbow (“To Me“), Girl’s Day (“Twinkle Twinkle“), f(x) (“Pinocchio“), 4minute (“Mirror“), Yangpa (“It Hurts“), and Clover (“La Vida Loca“). Yangpa and Clover did not perform today.




The Mutizen winner for this week was announced to be Big Bang as they clinched a triple crown with their repackaged album! Congratulations to Big Bang as they say goodbye on a high note!

After School makes a comeback with ‘Shampoo’ on Inkigayo


After a long hiatus, the After School girls are back on SBS’s Inkigayo with a brand new round of promotions after releasing their first album, “Virgin” earlier this week.
Decked out with a lovelier and more feminine concept, the girls have filled the album to the brim with songs that hold motivating themes like confidence and individuality. It’s been a long year since their last “Bang!” release, so the girls have set out to make this comeback particularly special.

In an interview with Sports Today, After School stated, “Because of a chain of events last year, we weren’t able to promote as a group. We’ve missed the stage that much more, and we’d like to emphasize that we’re promoting as a group now. It’s so fun and we love it.”
When asked about their tap dance routine, they replied, “It’s the result of five months of practice. Because of our personal schedules, we didn’t have a lot of time to practice but we truly tried our best. With our ‘Bang!’ promotions, we were always injuring our fingers. This time it’s our toes.”
The girls concluded, “We’ve been promoting individually until finally getting back together in nearly a year. Because of that, we’ll be giving our best on stage. Please give us your support, as we’ll be promoting for as long as possible.”

INFINITE says goodbye with “Traffic Safety Song” on Inkigayo

INFINITE also received the baton for the “Traffic Safety Song,” a collaborative campaign between SBS’s “Inkigayo” and the Korean Transporation Safety Authority in promotion of safe driving and environment protection.
The boys showed much determination in delivering the meaningful message of the campaign by coming up with their own choreography for the song, so check out their music video below!

B1A4 debuts on Inkigayo with “OK”


After melting the hearts of fans with their unique webtoons marketing style, WM Entertainment’s newest boyband, ‘B1A4‘, has finally made their debut on today’s episode of “Inkigayo“!
Their unique name is an abbreviation of ‘Be the one, All for one’, and also stands for Baro being type B blood, while Jinyoung, CNU, Sandeul, and Gongchan being type A.
Their title track, “OK“, is an electronic track using rock as its base to feature the powerful and refreshing vocals of B1A4. With a catchy hook like, “Everything’s OK as long as I have you”, and an addictive melody to boot, the group seems to have what it takes work their way up to ‘becoming the ultimate’.
