Big Bang wins Inkigayo Mutizen triple crown + other performances



SBS’s Inkigayo is back once again, and this week’s show was full of amazing and fun performances from the top participating K-pop artists!
As reported earlier, CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa left his hosting position last week due to an increasing workload, and his replacements, IU and B2ST’s Kikwang, began their journey today alongside existing hosts, 2AM’s Jo Kwon and f(x)’s Sulli as a new 4-membered MC team.

The ‘Take 7‘ nominees for the March 20th episode of Inkigayo were Lee Hyun (“You Are The Best of My Life“), K-Will (“My Heart is Beating“), MBLAQ (“Again“), Big Bang (“Tonight“), Kan Mi Youn (“Paparazzi“), Song Ji Eun feat. Bang Yong Guk (“Going Crazy“), and G.NA (“Black & White“).
Due to various reasons, Kan Mi Youn, Song Ji Eun, and G.NA did not perform today.
Having already won triple crowns through “M! Countdown” and “Music Bank“, Big Bang claimed their 3rd triple crown by winning the ‘Mutizen’ once more on “Inkigayo” this afternoon.

INFINITE returns with ‘Nothing’s Over’ on Inkigayo


INFINITE has made a swift comeback through this week’s ‘Inkigayo‘.
Shedding their dark “Before the Dawn” concept, the boys went with a playful and romantic look for “Nothing’s Over” to coincide with the upcoming spring season.
Their title track was produced by composer Han Jae Ho and lyricist Kim Seung Soo, who’s both known for producing all of INFINITE’s title tracks in the past. The two focused on bringing out the emotions of the lyrics with an easy melody and a unique sound.

LPG makes an “Angry” comeback on Inkigayo


Trot girl group LPG has made their comeback on this week’s SBS’s Inkigayo.
LPG made a comeback with a remake of Yolanda Be Cool & DCup’s hit track, “We No Speak Americano“! The original track was much-loved and ranked first on 20 different charts in 16 nations, and even recorded 10 million views on YouTube.
Chan Music revealed, “LPG came up with new sounds and new lyrics for their remake, titled ‘Angry.’ There were a lot of artists in Korea that wanted to remake the track, but through a long and consistent effort, LPG has earned the rights to remake it.”




ZE:A declares “Here I Am” on Inkigayo


ZE:A has officially kicked off their round of comeback promotions through today’s episode of SBS’s ‘Inkigayo‘!
Their title track, “Here I Am,” is an up-beat urban pop track with an addictive hook that brings out the happiness of love. For their performance, the boys decided to swap out their aggressive, masculine images for a more romantic and suave one.
Before the broadcast, the boys expressed their determination to win the top spot. “While preparing for this album, all of us banded tightly together. We’re determined to work to the death in order to win #1 on a music program. There are a lot of other talented teams, but we hope to captivate the hearts of our fans with our lovely new image and show our fans that we can win #1. We’ll be working hard, so please look forward to our transformations.”

IU and B2ST’s Kikwang perform for a special ‘Inkigayo’ stage


As reported earlier, IU and B2ST’s Kikwang began their roles as the new MCs of Inkigayo from March 20th, and they ushered in this new era with a special stage!
Their predecessor, CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa, had left his MC role last week due to his increasing workload with CNBLUE’s upcoming promotions and his new drama role in “Festival“.
IU and Kikwang will now form a new 4-member MC team with the existing hosts, 2AM’s Jo Kwon and f(x)’s Sulli. Check out their promotional photos below!

TEEN TOP promotes safe driving with the “Traffic Safety Song” on Inkigayo


TEEN TOP has received the baton for the “Traffic Safety Song,” a collaborative campaign between SBS’s “Inkigayo” and the Korean Transporation Safety Authority in promotion of safe driving and environment protection.
The boys showed much determination in delivering the meaningful message of the campaign by coming up with their own choreography for the song and connecting it to their own stylish “Supa Luv” choreography.

CHI CHI debuts on Inkigayo with “Don’t Play Around”


Yedang Entertainment’s new 7-membered girl group, CHI CHI, has finally made their debut through today’s SBS’s Inkigayo with their debut single, “Don’t Play Around.”
Comprised of members Nara, Jiyu, Peach, Aji, Semi, Boreum, and Sori, the group’s name stands for ‘Creative Electronic House Idol,’ which is an expression of their desire to become creative idols that pursue electronic house dance music.
Each of the members have undergone arduous training in singing and dancing, and are said to have ‘infinite spectrum’ in their abilities. Their title track, “Don’t Play Around,” is an electronic house track with strong beats and an analog feel that’s mixed and matched to create CHI CHI’s own unique style.
With lofty ambitions of surpassing SNSD to become the nation’s girl group, and ultimately Asia’s best girl group, the CHI CHI girls are certainly aiming high to reach their goals with their unique music.

Girl’s Day returns with “Twinkle Twinkle” on Inkigayo


Girl’s Day has been exceeding the expectations of many, and as a rookie group, that’s truly a hard accomplishment to achieve. Music fans were left speechless by the radical transformation the girls underwent for their newest release, “Twinkle Twinkle“.
Ahead of the broadcast, the girls stated, “It feels like we’ve just debuted again. We all worked so hard on this album – it doesn’t feel like a comeback, but more like a debut. We’re very thankful towards the people who complimented our song, and we’ll try our best to live up to expectations.”
The girls concluded, “There’s a lot of men that like our new concept, and we think it’s probably because there’s something that makes your heart flutter with schoolgirl outfits. We’ll be working hard to show the best sides of ourselves, so please look forward to us.”
